LUS

LUS privacy policy

This policy applies to the mobile game LUS (Android and iOS). It explains which data is processed when you play LUS, why, and what rights you have.

Last updated: 21 October 2026

This is a translation of the Dutch privacy policy. If the two differ, the Dutch version prevails.

Who is responsible

LUS is published by Vivid Rise Technologies, the sole proprietorship of Dennis Verhoeven. Send privacy questions to info@vividrise.nl.

In short

  • You do not need an account. Your progress is stored only on your device.
  • If you choose to join the leaderboards, your best scores go to our own server under a random nickname. This is off by default and you can erase it at any time.
  • To keep LUS free, we show ads through Google AdMob. Google processes data for this, such as your device's advertising ID. You decide whether ads may be personalised.
  • Real-money purchases go through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Your game progress (on your device only)

Your scores, level, coins, purchased items, missions, settings and similar data are stored in the app's storage on your own phone. This data is not sent to us or to anyone else. If you delete the app or clear its data, it is gone.

Your device language is read to show LUS in your language. This also happens on your device only.

To check the date (for the daily reward and the season), the app asks our own server (lus-api.vividrise.nl) for the current time when it opens, and Google (www.google.com) if our server cannot be reached. No game data is sent; the server only sees your IP address, as with any internet connection. We do not store that IP address.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

LUS shows ads that you choose to watch, for example to continue a run or to double your coins. We use Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited. Google may process, among other things:

  • your device's advertising ID (Android advertising ID or Apple IDFA);
  • your IP address and an approximate location derived from it;
  • information about your device and operating system;
  • how you interact with ads (viewed, tapped).

This is needed to show and measure ads and to prevent abuse (fraud). If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent to personalised ads on first launch. If you do not consent, you get non-personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time under Settings > Privacy settings in the app. On iOS the app also asks for permission to track you (App Tracking Transparency).

Legal basis: your consent (for personalised ads) and our legitimate interest in offering the game for free with ads (for non-personalised ads and fraud prevention).

How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

If you buy “Ad-free”, no more ads are shown.

Leaderboards (only if you join)

On the Leaderboard screen you can choose to join. Only then does the app contact our own server (lus-api.vividrise.nl, a Vivid Rise server in the Netherlands hosted by mijn.host). It then stores:

  • a randomly chosen nickname (for example NeonComet#4821). You never type a name yourself;
  • a random code that only your device knows, so the server knows a score is yours. The server only stores an irreversible derivative (hash) of that code;
  • per mode, prestige rank and season your best score, height and when you achieved it;
  • which season rewards you have claimed.

To prevent cheating, the app also sends the tap timings of a run. The server replays the run with them to check the score. Those tap timings are not kept afterwards. Data about an issued run (the track's start number and the time) is deleted within a day.

Your nickname, score and height are visible to other players on the leaderboard. No advertising ID, email address, device ID or location goes to the server, and your IP address is only used briefly in memory to limit abuse and is not stored.

You can erase everything at any time under Leaderboard > Erase leaderboard data. Your nickname, scores and rewards are then removed from the server immediately. If you have already removed the app, email your nickname to info@vividrise.nl and we will erase it within 30 days.

Legal basis: your consent (you switch it on yourself) and providing the leaderboards you choose to use.

Real-money purchases

Coin packs, “Ad-free”, the starter pack and the season pass are bought through Google Play or the App Store. They process your payment under their own privacy policies. LUS only receives a confirmation with the purchased product and a transaction number. We store that transaction number on your device so a purchase is credited exactly once. “Restore purchases” asks the store to pass on your earlier purchases again.

Legal basis: performing the purchase contract.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell data.
  • We do not use our own analytics services and do not build profiles.
  • We do not ask for your name, email address or other contact details in the app.
  • We do not share leaderboard data with anyone; only your nickname and scores are visible on the board.

Retention

Game data stays on your device until you delete the app or clear its data. Leaderboard data stays on the server until you erase it from the leaderboard screen. Google's retention periods apply to the data Google processes for advertising.

Children

LUS is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian before you consent to personalised ads or buy anything.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have, among others, the right of access, rectification, erasure and objection, and the right to withdraw your consent. Because your game data is stored only on your own device, you can delete it yourself by clearing the app data or deleting the app. You change your ad consent under Settings > Privacy settings; you can reset your advertising ID in your device settings. For data processed by Google, you can also contact Google directly.

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at info@vividrise.nl. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, or the authority in your country: autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. We announce major changes in the app.
